OTR/L — Licensed Occupational Therapist

Occupational Therapist, Registered & Licensed (OTR/L)

Professional License · Active

Kaylen Fletcher holds the OTR/L credential — the standard professional license for occupational therapists in the United States. To earn OTR/L status, a therapist must complete an accredited graduate-level occupational therapy program, pass the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) examination, and maintain active state licensure.

Kaylen's OTR/L license has been active since her graduation in 2015 and reflects her commitment to professional practice, continuing education, and ethical standards of care.

DIRFloortime® Certificate of Proficiency

DIRFloortime® Certificate of Proficiency

Highest Level DIRFloortime® Certification · ICDL

The DIRFloortime® Certificate of Proficiency is the highest level of certification awarded by the Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning (ICDL). It recognizes clinicians who have demonstrated deep mastery of the DIRFloortime® model — a relationship-based, developmental framework for understanding and supporting children's functional emotional development.

Earning this certification requires completing advanced coursework, supervised clinical hours, case conceptualization, and a rigorous evaluation of one's clinical application of the model. Kaylen is one of a select group of clinicians nationwide to hold this designation.

DIRFloortime® Practitioner (DIR-Proficient)

Practitioner Level · Active

In addition to the Certificate of Proficiency, Kaylen holds the DIR-Proficient practitioner designation — confirming her active clinical application of the DIRFloortime® model with children and families. Her work is grounded in the core principles of developmental, individual-difference, and relationship-based practice.

What is DIRFloortime®?

The DIR® (Developmental, Individual Difference, Relationship-based) model was developed by Dr. Stanley Greenspan and Dr. Serena Wieder. It is a comprehensive framework for evaluating and supporting children with developmental challenges. DIRFloortime® — the applied therapeutic approach within the model — uses the power of play and child-led interaction to build developmental foundations across emotional, social, cognitive, and communication domains.

Unlike scripted or drill-based approaches, DIRFloortime® follows the child's interests and emotional cues. The therapist enters the child's world — joining them in play — to expand their capacity for engagement, connection, and development.
